“Gone but not forgotten”

Rajiv Ruparelia will be remembered in the penultimate round of the national rally championship slated for 9-12 October in Gulu, northern Uganda.

Rajiv who was a patron to Central Motor Club (CMC) as well as a competitor lost his life in a car crash in May this year.

However, his legacy still reigns in the sport.

Rajiv’s entry to the sport registered lots of positives especially in his club CMC where he influenced several creations including spreading the event to upcountry.

“When Rajiv took over CMC, he had a lot of plans for the club that would make it better and bring in resources. It was him who motivated us to do rallies in different areas and we agreed on Gulu last year. The event was a big success and fans liked it,” said Shyam Kotecha.

In the Gulu rally, the club intends to continue Rajiv’s philanthropic activities.

“ We are going to give back to the communities in Gulu; more likely digging a borehole because Rajiv wanted to do that under the RR legacy,” added Kotecha.
