UPDF FC secured a hard fought win over Mbarara City as the two teams faced off at Kakyeka Stadium on Friday. Despite ending the game with a player less, the Army side managed to secure maximum points.
The lone goal of the game was scored by veteran striker Samuel Kayongo Ssekamate, coming in the 67th minute.
However, UPDF FC were reduced to ten minute from time with Christopher Kamagu given marching orders.
The win is the first for UPDF FC this season. The Bombo based outfit lost their season opening game to Express at Nakivubo Stadium.
On the other hand, the Ankole Lions have one point from the opening two games. They drew one-all away to Police FC on the first day of the season.
