JT Lady Jaguars sweep Magic Stormers to advance to their maiden 2025 National Basketball League Playoffs Finals.
JT Lady Jaguars secured a well-deserved 59-43 victory against Magic Stormers in game three of the best-of-five NBL Playoffs semifinals at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Thursday.
Magic Stomers came out of the blocks early to take the lead but were neutralised by Brenda Kayaga’s two three-point jump shots.
Angella Auma’s three-point buzzer beater concluded the opening period as the Magic Stomers trailed by a point (15-14).
The Magic Stomers suffered a big blow as Kur Ajah was lifted off the court injured as the JT Lady Jaguars took a one-point lead into the halftime break.
Coming from the break, Magic Stomers kept the fight alive however the avoidable turnovers in the last second of the period sent Rhoda Nagitta on the and she converted two of three giving the Jaguars a five-point lead.
In the final period, Magic Stomers were limited to only six points as the Lady Jaguars ran away with a 16-point victory on the day.
Rhoda Naggita and Brenda Kayaga led the Lady Jaguars’ scoring in double digits with each dropping 14 points. Mercy Batamuliza and Sarah Ageno cleaned the glasses with 20 and 14 rebounds respectively.
On the other hand, Auma Angella dropped 11 points while Christine Nakito dropped 14 rebounds as the only players to reach double digits for Magic Stormers.
