Jude Ssemugabi scored in the 54th minute off a pin point corner kick from Allan Okello as Uganda sealed a double over Botswana to put a grip on the second position in Group G.
It was yet another masterclass from the Uganda Cranes as they keep faint 2026 World Cup qualifying dreams alive but how did each player rate on the day.
Denis Onyango 7.0:
A clean sheet on his return from retirement after more than four years. Never really tested but organised his backline well.
Tobby Sibbick 7.0
Another composed performance from the Burton Albion man who was solid at the back limiting very few crosses from his area. Denied a goal by the Botswana goalkeeper following a decent shot in the latter stages of the game.
Aziz Kayondo 7.0
Reliable as usual and defended resolutely despite the hosts using his area for most attacks. Also went forward decently.
Elio Capradossi 6.5
Looked a little rusty but rarely put a foot wrong and made quick decisions.
Jordan Obita 7.5
He’s curved out a role as the Cranes top choice left side centre back. Composed and calm on the ball and helped the team play from the back especially in the first half.
Khalid Aucho 7.0:
Made some brilliant blocks and put his body on the line. A leader’s performance on the day.
Kenneth Ssemakula 7.0
Nullified a couple of attacks and won several battles in the middle of the pack and the passed the ball well after winning possession back.
Allan Okello 8.0
Assisted the goal with a weighted corner kick and looked the more likely player to create something for the team from the midfield. Replaced by Mutyaba
Rogers Mato 6.0
Tested the goalie with the most shots on target but unlucky not to get on the score sheet.
Jude Ssemugabi 7.0:
Right position, right timing for his headed goal that proved to be the winner. Great game overall.
Steven Mukwala 6.0
Headed wide in the first half which reflects on how goals have deserted him on the national team but his overall play remained decent.
Substitutes
Travis Mutyaba 6.5
Excellent and entertaining with the ball at his feet after replacing Okello.
Ikpeazu Mubiru 5.0
Got more minutes this time round and had few good touches but yet to prove his worth.

We will always remain proud of our country ug
Nice display mukyala doesn’t score but ball display is fantastic, Mato good but his selfish decisions sometimes costs us , mutyaba needs more on pitch guy is sublime
Bigup to the cranes and her well washers
All in all I wish Uganda Cranes the best.
