Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) sent a formidable team of players to the 2025 ITTF African Senior championship in Tunis city, Tunisia.

This championship serves off on Sunday, 12th October and will run until next Sunday, 19th October.

“We have trained well for a long time, all the players are ready to give their best effort at the ITTF African Senior championships in Tunisia” team skipper Ssenyonga remarked moments before departure.

Olympian and veteran former Uganda Table Tennis ace Paul Mutambuze is the head coach.

UTTA president Cyrus Mark Muwanga is also part of the delegation and will grace the Africa Table Tennis Federation Annual General Assembly.

Categories:

The players will compete in various categories as singles, doubles, mixed doubles and the team event; a precursor to the London 2026 World Table Tennis Championship.

Uganda eyes the top eight slots to qualify for the World championships and join the Table Tennis fraternity as it celebrates a century of the world fiesta.

More than 25 countries will battle for supremacy to include the hosts Tunisia, giants Egypt, Uganda, Algeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Congo, Benin, among others.

During the same event last year, Uganda’s ladies scooped bronze.

Meanwhile, the junior team that has the duo of Joseph Sebatindira and Patience Anyango is in final stages of preparations for the World Hopes Week and Challenge meet in Sheffield city, United Kingdom (13th to 19th October 2025).
