The Toro Ladies Open 2025 reaffirmed Toro Golf Club’s commitment to developing golf across all levels—ladies, juniors, and seniors—while fostering sportsmanship and community engagement in the region.
Toro Golf Club successfully concluded the third edition of the Toro Ladies Open at the 9-hole Toro Golf course in the Tourism city Fort Portal.
This three day championship drew an impressive field of 90 golfers from across Uganda and beyond.
Peace Kabasweka emerged victorious after an outstanding display of skill, focus, and consistency on her home course.

The event teed off with the Junior Category, attracting 34 young participants who showcased the bright future of Ugandan golf.
Action continued with the ladies competing over 54 holes—36 holes on second last day and 18 on the final day.
The final day also featured a Subsidiary category for men and senior golfers, adding camaraderie and excitement to the competition.

Kabasweka, who also serves as the Lady Captain of Toro Golf Club, expressed pride both in her personal victory and in the growing impact of the tournament.
“Winning here at home is always special,” said Lady Captain Peace Kabasweka. “But beyond my personal victory, I’m proud of how the Toro Ladies Open has grown. We’ve seen tremendous participation from across the country, and that shows the future of ladies’ golf in Uganda is very bright.”

Toro Golf Club Captain Robert Mugabe praised the high level of play and the organization of the event, noting its role in advancing women’s golf in Uganda.
“This year’s tournament has been one of the best we’ve hosted. The turnout, the organization, and the quality of golf have all been outstanding,” said Captain Mugabe. “Toro Golf Club continues to play a leading role in promoting the game, especially among women and juniors.”
Club Chairman Frank Kirungi commended the organizing team and partners who made the event possible.
“What we’ve witnessed this weekend is a testament to teamwork and vision,” said Chairman Kirungi.
“The Toro Ladies Open is no longer just a club event—it’s now a national fixture that continues to grow in prestige every year.” he added.
