Following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Africa now shifts attention to club football with eyes on the group stages of the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Caf Champions League

Elsewhere, four-time winners EspĂ©rance de Tunis travel to Burkina Faso to face Rahimo FC, while Petro Atletico of Angola visit Stade d’Abidjan in CĂ´te d’Ivoire aiming to maintain their dominant form from the previous round.

Ugandan Premier league champions Vipers are at home to Zambia’s Power Dynamos, Tanzanian giants Young Africans face Silver Strikers of Malawi, while Orlando Pirates of South Africa travel to the Democratic Republic of Congo to face St Éloi Lupopo in another thrilling fixture.

Elsewhere, Kenya’s Police FC host Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman, Mozambique’s Black Bulls take on Rivers United of Nigeria while Horoya AC of Guinea meet FAR Rabat from Morocco in one of the most balanced pairings of the weekend.

Meanwhile, Pyramids and Berkane will face each other in the CAF Super Cup on Saturday in Cairo – a battle between the winners of last season’s TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup and this has led to the postponement of their matches in which the defending champions Pyramids FC (Egypt) and Ethiopian Insurance, as well as RS Berkane (Morocco) and Al Ahly Tripoli (Libya) were to face off.

Caf Confederation Cup

In the second tier of African club football, Zamalek play away to Dekedaha of Somalia in the first leg, Tanzania’s Azam are away to close neighbours KMKM of Zanzibar while FC 15 de Agosto Akonibe of Angola take on Stellenbosch of South Africa.

The second leg fixtures are scheduled for 24–26 October 2025, after which the 16 winners will advance to the group stage, which begins in November.
