KCCA coach Jackson Magera was delighted to see fans return as his side overcame old rivals Express 1-0 at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo on Thursday.

With the dust now settled after reverting to the home and away league format, the KCCA faithful showed up in big numbers and left with smiles following a lone strike by Sammy Ssebaduka that decided the game.

“Fans make football, there is no way you can play well without them in the stands because they motivate the players, technical staff and the atmosphere great,” Magera told the post-match briefing.

“We are happy that now they are back and that will motivate us to play even better.”

Magera, who was in full charge with the absence of his co-coaching partner Brian Ssenyondo hailed the lads for the disciplined display in a tough match against an old rival.

“Express vs KCCA is never an easy game and so I am pleased with the boys who stuck to the game plan managing the game well in all its aspects.”

Ssebaduka also got praises for his manager who he described as very important especially with his versatility.

“He is a very important versatile player who can play in different positions, as a right back, as a right winger and we are very happy with him.

“Even in the Super 8, he scored a goal and today, his goal gave us important three points.”

The win lifted KCCA to 3rd on the log with 8 points from four matches and next on menu is a home tie against newcomers Calvary on Friday October 31.
