JT Lady Jaguars fought until the last minute of the game to ensure they took game one of the best-of-seven National Basketball League Finals.
JT Lady Jaguars secured a well-deserved 69-52 victory against reigning champions JKL Lady Dolphins in the National Basketball League encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
Quick-footed guard Sandra Wangeshi’s two three-point shots gave JT Lady Jaguars a good drive, thus creating a nine-point (25-16) lead at the end of the opening period.

Going into the second quarter, the Lady Jaguars switched to quick transitional offence as Rhoda Nagitta, Brenda Kayaga, and Maimuna Nabbosa ran down the floor, forcing the JKL Lady Dolphins to introduce Flavia Oketcho and Tamasha Nsubuga.
The Lady Jaguars spent over three minutes without converting as the Lady Dolphins’ zone defensive was tough to beat. However, the Lady Jaguars took a six-point (37-31) lead into the halftime break.

Coming from the locker rooms, despite the Lady Dolphins’ strong fight, the Lady Jaguars held onto the eight-point (50-42) lead at the end of the third period.
The Lady Jaguars limited the Lady Dolphins to only 10 points in the final quarter as they took home a commanding 17-point victory on the day.





Wangeshi (15 points), Shakira Nanvubya (13 points) and Sarah Ageno (10 points) led the Lady Jaguars’ scoring with double digits.
Only Ekone Brenda (16 points) and Hope Akello (12 points) reached double digits for the Lady Dolphins.
