- Entebbe UPPC 1-0 NEC
NEC’s abysmal start to the season continued with a 1-0 defeat to hosts Entebbe UPPC in absence of suspended head coach Hussein Mbalangu.
Samuel Junior Kawawa scored the decisive goal in the second half to hand the hosts their second win of the season that takes them into top four with seven points.
Kawawa’s goal arrived on the 60th minute mark as he got at the end of a brilliant Gift Odong’s perfect cross.
NEC went into the game on the back of two stalemates including a disappointing one against Police in which they led 2-0 before conceding late in the game.
And it marked the first game for interim James Odoch but he will wait for another game, probably away to Mbarara City next Saturday for his and NEC’s first triumph.
At the moment, they are 13th on the 16-team table with only two points.
Entebbe UPPC’s next game will be at home against league champions Vipers on November 1.
