Kumi University salvaged yet another point away from home in the ongoing University Football League.
Kumi University held Uganda Christian University (UCU) in a one-all draw in the UFL 2025-26 encounter in Mukono on Tuesday evening.
The visitors started on a high thus pegging UCU on the back foot early on in the game.
Harry Abiti broke the deadlock in the 18th minute with a powerful effort that gave the home crowd a reason to get on their feet in jubilation.
Eight minutes later, Saidi Muthir levelled matters for the visitors with a beautifully curling effort that left the goalkeeper totally beaten.
Hamis Isabirye nearly gave Kumi a lead in the 36th minute with a powerful strike but the goalkeeper smartly palmed the ball out for a corner kick.
Kumi kept growing in the game in the final minutes of the first half but were very unlucky not to take the lead before the break.
Five minutes into the second half, Peter Kyomuhendo witnessed his strike bounce off the woodwork after a powerful effort from distance.
The hosts came close once again with Abiti’s strike sailing inches wide of the frame after being set up by quick-footed Isaac Ofoyrwoth.
Reagan Ssekisambu’s effort hit the frame after going through a forest of legs but visitors managed to clear their lines.
Despite the strong charge from the hosts in the final minutes they failed to find the much needed decider.
