Uganda National Boxing team, the Bombers were the first group of athletes to arrive for the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games due in Riyadh city, Saudi Arabia (7th to 21st November 2025).

The delegation reached safely on the morning of Sunday, 2nd November before checking into the games’ village.

Two male boxers Jimmy Adriko and Alfred Ojok are joined by another set of female boxers Angel Katushabe and Fatuma Nabikolo.

They were warmly received by the advance party that traveled earlier to prepare for the reception of the other members on the delegation.

“We traveled well and all the boxers are in the best shape. We are just quickly adjusting to the weather as we look forward a fast recovery prior to the training sessions” Samuel Kabugo, the head coach remarked.

These four fighters will compete in the different categories with Adriko in the 60 Kg docket, Katushabe (51 kg), Nabikoolo (57kg) and Ojok shall compete in the 80 kg cluster.

Samuel Kabugo is the boxers’ head coach at these games as they commenced little sparing as part of the recovery process from the jet lag.

The technical meeting will be held on Monday ahead of the competition.

Overall, Uganda has a total of 39 athletes with other disciplines as Aquatics, Athletics, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Para-Powerlifting and Table Tennis also represented.

Athletes aside, Uganda also has International Technical Officials (ITOs) in Salim Musoke Ssenkungu, Janet Musoke Namwanga (Weightlifting), Monicca Nassuuna (Basketball) and Fula Aciga (Boxing).

Hajji Sadick Zaid Nasiwu is the team Chef De Mission. He is deputized by Muhammadi Baale Waladde.

The official flag off for team Uganda was held on Friday, 31st October 2025 at the National Council of Sports (NCS).
