  • Nov 15: Uganda vs Chad
  • Nov 19: Morocco vs Uganda

Upon renewing his contract his contract with Uganda Cranes, head coach Paul Put has named one new face in the team’s squad for the November International friendlies.

Uganda will face Chad and Afcon 2025 hosts Morocco on November 15 and 19 respectively.

Ghanaian born midfielder Al Hasssan Baba who features for Romanian side FC Steaua Bucharest is the new face on the 28-man squad.

Former Germany based attacker Lorenzen Melvyn has returned to the fold for the first time since 2016 having made his debut in the game away to Zimbabwe Warriors.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) will have strong representation in the national team once again, with nine players from local clubs named in the late Veteran Denis Onyango, defenders Elio Capradossi and Jordan Obita as well as midfield anchor Khalid Aucho headline the foreign-based group.

The local contingent is led by Vipers SC foursome of Allan Okello, Denis Kiggundu, Rogers Torach, and Hilary Mukundane — alongside BUL goalkeeper Tom Ikara, KCCA pair Herbert Achayi and Shafik Kwikiriza.

Others are URA defender Moses Alio, and SC Villa’s Reagan Mpande.

Goalkeepers Alionzi Nafian and Crispus Kusiima, the APR duo of Denis Omedi and Ronald Ssekiganda are overlooked.

Put, who guided Uganda back to the Afcon finals after a six-year absence, has emphasized balancing youth and experience as the team prepares for its Group C fixtures against Tunisia (Dec 23), Tanzania (Dec 27), and Nigeria (Dec 30).

Uganda’s friendlies in Morocco will mark the Cranes’ final tune-up before the continental showpiece.
