UPDF register a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Lugazi in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Bombo Military Grounds on Friday.
Emmanuel Ochen and Joseph Janjali scored the two goals as the Army side collected maximum points on the day.
Lugazi goalkeeper Juma Mutebi made a big save to deny Shafic Kakande from the 12-yard mark in the sixth minute.
Ochen finally broke the lead lock in the 15th minute after calmly slotting the ball in the back of the net.
Mutebi made a stunning save to deny Janjali at the stroke of the opening stanza as the hosts pegged Lugazi’s defence on the backfoot.
Two minutes into the second period, Janjali doubled UPDF’s lead as the hosts took a comfortable lead on the day.
In the 70th minute, Paul Wasswa was sent off after getting the second booking in the game.
Lugazi decided to implore a low block in the final minutes of the game to limit the damage away from home.
The victory sends UPDF to the 12th position with nine points in as many games tied with Lugazi.
