  • UPDF vs Police – Bombo Barracks Ground, Bombo 4pm
  • SC Villa vs Kitara – Fufa stadium, Kadiba 8pm

Ahead of their visit to Fufa stadium, Kadiba to face record champions SC Villa, Kitara assistant coach Wasswa Bbosa has reiterated respect but not fear.

The two sides face off on Thursday under floodlights with the hosts eager to stop their four-match winless run against Kitara.

Both teams come into the game on the back to successive wins with Villa beating Police (2-1) and Buhimba (3-0) while Kitara won 3-2 versus Mbarara City and then 4-0 against Lugazi.

“They are one of the biggest teams in the country and we respect them for that,” said Bbosa. “But we go there confident after overcoming a poor start and the target is to win the game,” he added.

Zeljko Kovacevic is likely to maintain nearly the same team that started the last two matches with Reagan Mpande, a brace hero against Buhimba leading the line.

Patrick Kakande returned to training but the game could come too soon for him while Charles Lwanga could be in the squad after missing the trip to Hoima last week.

Ibrahim Kasinde, Hassan Mubiru and Najib Yiga, facing his former pay masters will be key for the 17-time champions who aim to move into the top four with victory.

For Kitara, ex-Villa midfielders Amir Kakomo and Emmanuel Wasswa turn against the Jogoos in a bid to dominate the midfield with Patrick Kaddu leading the hunt for goals.

Kitara are unbeaten against SC Villa in the last five meetings since losing the first meeting 3-2 in 2021 [W3, D2] in all competitions.

In the early kick off, Police visit UPDF at Bombo Barracks.
