SC Villa earned a hard-fought win over Kitara FC as the two teams faced off on Thursday evening under the lights at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.
The closely contested encounter saw the Jogoos sail to victory thanks to a solitary goal from their new talisman, Frank Ssebufu.
The lanky forward headed home midway through the second half to collect all three points for the home side. This was his first goal since joining the club at the start of the season.
SC Villa coach Nemanja Kovacevic maintained the same team that started in the previous outing against Buhimba United Saints.
On the other hand, coach Wasswa Bossa made two changes from the team that demolished Lugazi FC 4-0, with Yunus Sibira and Gaddafi Wahab starting ahead of Amir Kakomo and Isaac Amutuhaire.
The decisive moment of the game arrived in the 66th minute when Ssebufu rose high to nod the ball into the back of the net.
The result takes SC Villa, who have won three back-to-back games, up to third place on ten points, one behind joint table leaders KCCA FC and Police FC.
Kitara, on the other hand, suffered their second loss of the campaign, thus remaining eighth in the table on seven points.
