Uganda U17 Boys’ National Football Team, the Cubs, will take on Senegal in the Round of 32 at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.

After successfully sailing through the group phase, the Cubs have been pitted against the West African giants.

Uganda defied odds to beat France in their final Group K game to not only secure the first-ever win at a World Cup but also secure a spot in the knockout stages.

Lethal forward James Bogere scored the lone goal against France that guided Uganda to victory on Tuesday.

The result for Uganda, coupled with Chile’s win against Canada, ensured all four teams in Group K ended on four points.

France topped the group, with Canada, Uganda and Chile following in that order due to goal difference.

Senegal, on the other hand, topped Group C with seven points. They are the only African team out of ten that finished as group leaders.

The Round of 32 game for Uganda against Senegal is slated for 15th November, with the winner on aggregate facing either Germany or Burkina Faso at the next round.
