In 2020, the KT Rach Ladies Basketball Tournament started as an off-season pick-up tournament to engage women in the game during the off-season.
However, with every edition, the tournament addresses a key issue faced by sportswomen, and this year is no exception.
The 2025 KT Rach Ladies Basketball Tournament, which is the fourth edition, is geared towards empowering sportswomen through financial literacy, a session that will be led by Innocent Kawooya, the CEO of HiPipo.
The one-day event that will be held at Lugogo Indoor Stadium on Saturday, November 22, has been spiced up with a men’s all-star game that will see Team Uganda, led by Silverbacks and City Oilers flashy guard Fayed Baale, taking on Team International, led by Kenyan power forward Peter Sifuma.
What is a social event without fans having some fun? Scores will be settled on the court when Namuwongo Blazers fans take on JT Jaguars fans.
The day’s main attraction will see ten ladies’ teams compete for the grand prize.
Pearl Queens, fresh from securing qualification to the National Basketball League, make an entry into the tournament along with Team KU, Team Jills, and Naath Basketball Team.
