A new-look Uganda Cranes starting XI will suit up against Chad in the International Friendly at Stade Berrechid as part of preparations for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put, the Belgian gaffer, has opted to test his squad. He named Denis Kiggundu in goal. Greatly viewed as the fourth-choice custodian, this match offers him a crucial stage to showcase his abilities.

The defence features Toby Sibbick, who has been a mainstay since his debut against Somalia, and Herbert Achayi patrolling the left flank after an impressive showing at CHAN.

Jordan Obita, today’s captain, anchors the heart of the backline alongside Roger Torach, who previously wore the armband for the CHAN side.

As is the norm for Coach Put, the double pivot (anchormen) consists of Bobosi Byaruhanga and debutant Baba Alhassan. Alhassan will view this as a great platform to showcase his potential.

In attack, Reagan Mpande and Joseph Mpande will play on either side, with Melvyn Lorenzen deployed in the number 10 role.

Towering forward Ikpeazu Uchechukwu has been assigned the task of leading the striking line.
