Duncan Mubiru aka Kikankane had yet another win to celebrate after coming top in the season finale; the Kabalega rally in Hoima district over the weekend.
‘kikankane’ as commonly referred to had a daring start of the season consisting of mechanical challenges that put him out of title contention.
But wins in the Pearl rally, Gulu rally and now Hoima rally victory have offered much consolation for the season in which he has also finished as a runners up in the championship.
The 2021 NRC champion fazed off Musa Sseggabwe’s early charge to secure the Hoima rally victory by 47seconds.
“We suffered some mechanical issues on day one which put us a bit behind on our pace. But day two was much better, and we managed to register important times,” said Joseph Kamya; Mubiru’s co-driver.
In Hoima, Musa Sseggabwe settled for a second position and with it, a first runner’s up spot for the championship.
Umar Dauda finished third overall.
Ronald Sebuguzi completed the top four which granted him the 2025 NRC championship ahead of Sseggabwe.
