Thailand won the toss and elected to bowl first and the Victoria Pearls self-destructed with a needless run out, getting rid of Captain Janet Mbabazi and she was followed back to the hut by Esther Iloku and Immaculate Nakisuyi in quick succession.

At 18/4, Uganda never recovered from a slow start and apart from Stephanie Nampiina (23), who got into double digits, the rest of the team failed to get into double digits.

Uganda was dismissed for their lowest total so far of 55.

In the run chase, Consy Aweko struck early but a second-wicket stand of 44 deflated any hopes of the Victoria Pearls pulling off a shocker.

Thailand cruised to an 8-wicket win and condemned Uganda to a fourth defeat of the tournament.

The defeat virtually knocks Uganda out of the race to finish among the top 4 but it has a chance to salvage some pride against the Netherlands and Tanzania.
