Uganda U-17 smiled past Ethiopia 3-0 during the subsequent semi-final. Second half goals from Lorian Lwesibawa (brace) and Thomas Ogema inspired Uganda Cubs to victory. The first semi-final witnessed Tanzania (Junior Taifa Stars) overcame Kenya 3-1 at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.

Uganda and Tanzania U-17 national football teams will represent the CECAFA zone at the 2026 CAF U-17 Africa of Nations (AFCON) finals.
The two countries confirmed their slots to the youth continental fiesta after winning their respective semi-final matches at the on-going CECAFA U-17 championships in Ethiopia.

The first semi-final witnessed Tanzania (Junior Taifa Stars) overcame Kenya 3-1 at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.
Nhingo Juma Luzelenga headed in the opener in the 19th minute, Luqman Ally Mbalasalu made it 2-0 before halftime, Armstrong Omondi pulled one back for Kenya in the 84th, and Soann Shabani sealed it in stoppage time.

The final between Tanzania Junior Taifa Stars and Uganda Cubs will be played on Tuesday 2nd December at 3.30 pm at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.
The bronze medal match between Kenya and hosts Ethiopia will also produce sparks since the third country to join the two finalists at AFCON U-17 finals shall also be determined.
The AFCON U-17 tournament will take place in Morocco with the top ten countries representing Africa at the 2026 FIFA U-17 finals in Qatar.
