  • Bulls 51/8
  • Elephants won by 18 runs

The Batball T10 tournament in Jinja concluded after three days of pulse-setting cricket from youngsters in the shortest format of the game.

The favourites, Leopards, were stunned in the semifinal by the bottom of the table Bulls, while the Elephants got past the Rhinos.

In the shortest format, once you blink, you might miss your hit and that was the advantage for the Bulls once they were given a sniff by the Leopards. The Elephants, who had finished second at the end of the round robin, battled third-placed Rhinos and managed to book a spot in the final.

Abraiz Ali (23) and Ronald Magezi (32) anchored the innings for the Elephants in the final to post a modest 69/6 in their 10 overs. Geoffrey Kakaire has been the anchor for Bulls on their way to the final but once he was formatted for zero early, the Elephants had done half the job. There was little resistance from the rest of the batting and the Elephants cruised to the win by 18 runs.

The Elephants smiled home with a cash prize of 2M shillings.

The short format was a proper test of skill for the young players; the tournament only featured players who were 22 years and below. All the games were played at the Jinja SSS cricket oval.

This was the first tournament to kick off season 2 of the Batball events. The best 16 players from this tournament will be part of the Batball Maxx tournament that starts in a few weeks.
