Government chief whip Hon. Dennis Obua, state minister for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Hon. Moses Magogo, Hon. Muhammed Nsereko, Hon. Asuman Basalirwa, Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, Hon. Patrick Nsanja, Hon. Paul Nsubuga, Hon. Peter Mugema, Hon. Geofrey Kayemba Ssolo and others are some of the stand-out players on the team.

Former Uganda Cranes International Tom Lwanga the head coach of the Uganda Parliamentary football team has released a star-studded team that will represent the country at this year’s East African Inter-Parliamentary Games due in Kampala city, Uganda.

It is a 28-man squad that has the tried and tested players in all the dockets.

Amid the busy and challenging times of canvassing for votes in the general and presidential elections, Members of Parliament have reserved time off their busy schedule to turn up for training sessions.

Asuman Basalirwa, Hon. Allan Ssewanyana, Hon. Patrick Nsanja, Hon. Paul Nsubuga, Hon. Peter Mugema, Hon. Geofrey Kayemba Ssolo, Hon. Amos Kankunda, Hon. Twaha Kagabo, Hon. Abubaker Kawalya, Hon. Ssemwanga Gyaviira (goalkeeper), Hon. Linos Ngompek (goalkeeper) and others are some of the stand-out players on the team.

Head coach Lwanga and the rest of technical team will have a rich collection of players at their disposal; granting them healthy selection puzzles to solve.

Defending champions Uganda opens against Burundi (football) at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo this Saturday, 6th December 2025.

Besides football, there are a couple of games that will be played as Volleyball, Netball, Basketball, Athletics, Golf, Darts, Tug of war and others.

Uganda (hosts) will be joined by Kenya, Burundi and South Sudan in the two-weeks’ competition.

Competition venues:

A number of venues will be used across Kampala city, ranging from the Mandela National Stadium – Namboole, MTN Omondi Stadium, Buziga Islamic School (Tug-of-war), Makerere University Indoor Arena, Lugogo Indoor Arena, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa (Golf) and the Conference Hall (Parliamentary Building).

The games will officially climax on 17th December 2025.
