The 2025 East African Community Parliamentary Games menu has netball, football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, darts, tug-of-war and golf, among others.
East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games 2025:
- Football: Uganda 4-1 Burundi
Uganda Parliamentary football team kicked off a successful defence of their title with a comprehensive 4-1 victory past Burundi at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

Hon. Denis Ssekabira, a legislator representing the people of Katikamu North scored a hat-trick as Uganda optimally utilized the home advantage.
All the goals from Hon. Ssekabira arrived in the second stanza of the flood-lit game.
Uganda had taken a quick lead through Hon. John Lamatia’s opener under 90 seconds from kick-off.

Burundi got a life-line with Hon. Shabani Nimubona’s equalizer but Uganda staged a brave fight to salvage the maximum points.
Uganda’s team was captained by Hon. Moses Magogo, a legislator of Budiope East, who also the president of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).


Hon. Mohammed Nsereko (Kampala Central) missed a penalty in the second half.
The games were officially opened at Kololo Ceremonial Independence Grounds.
Action continues on Sunday, 7th December 2025 as Uganda takes on Kenya on Basketball at the Lugogo Indoor Arena at 2 PM.
The two countries will also face off in Netball. In Volleyball, South Sudan will take on Kenya as EALA will face Uganda (men). Rwanda will square up against Uganda in Volleyball women.
Monday will have Darts at the Parliamentary Conference hall as well as athletics at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
On the same day, there will be the Tug-of-war (men and women) at the Buziga Islamic School.
Golf action swings off on Tuesday with round one at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.
