- Calvary 0-0 Vipers
Calvery holds Vipers in a goalless draw in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Midigo playground, Yumbe on Tuesday.
The visitors started the game without three key players: Allan Okello, Rogers Torach, and Hillary Mukundane, who travelled with the Uganda Cranes in preparation for the upcoming AFCON.
Vipers suffered a big blow as Abubakali Walusimbi was limped off the playing ground in the 17th minute before he was replaced by Patrick Mbowa.
Isaac Ogwang gave away a clear chance on goal as he preferred to set up Milton Karisa, who was off balance and the set-up was intercepted.
Kevin Dasylva’s effort bounced off the crossbar after being set up by Karim Watambala with a delightful delivery in the 30th minute.
However, the hosts held on to conclude the first period of the game without conceding.
Vipers made a double change at the start of the second half, introducing Gusto Mulongo and Enock Ssebagala for Isaac Ogwang and Usama Arafat.
Vipers nearly took the lead with four minutes to play but Yunus Sentamu’s effort brushed the crossbar before it went out.
After the goalless stalemate, Vipers lie second on the long with 18 points while Calvary sit at the bottom of the table with only two points.
Vipers return to action on Saturday, December 13, as they take on wounded BUL at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
