Vipers lock horns with league debutants Calvary in a rescheduled fixture at Midigo P/S Play Ground on Tuesday without three key players.
Allan Okello, Rogers Torach and Hilary Mukundane are out as they travelled with the Uganda Cranes to Morocco as the team prepares for Afcon 2025.
Though they had a chance to push away the game as per regulations, the champions opted to play and could also take on Lugazi without the trio.
The Venoms come into the game on the back of dropping points at NEC in a 1-1 draw but victory on Tuesday will push them to the summit courtesy of a better head-to-head than KCCA who are now on top.
In the absence of Okello, Karim Watambala, Yunus Sentamu, Usama Arafat and skipper Milton Karisa will lead the creative roles while Grant Masiko, Paul Mbowa, Livingstone Mulondo, Nicholas Wadada and Ashraf Mandela are viable options at the back with Mukundane and Torach being out.
Calvary are at the base of the table with one points in eight matches and are the only team without victory this season.
