Maroons secured a well-deserved 4-0 victory against Express in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Prison Grounds in Luzira on Wednesday.
Express goalkeeper Khasim Hafizi made a great save as he calmly collected Emmanuel Obua’s powerful strike in the 17th minute.
Raymond Walugembe broke the deadlock in the 26th minute as Maroons took the lead thanks to Brian Nkumbi’s well-taken corner kick.
Three minutes later, Emmanuel Obua doubled Maroons after being set up by Ivan Mayanja.
Nkumbi nearly joined the scoring party after hitting a powerful effort but his attempt went inches above the frame in the 38th minutes.
With six minutes to play in the first stanza, Obua extended Maroons’ lead to three after getting at the end of Rogers Kiwanuka’s delivery.
Nkumbi put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute with a thunderbolt as the Prison Warden secured a dominant victory.
The victory takes Maroons to the seventh position with 15 points in 12 games while Express drop to eighth position with 12 points in 11 games.
