Tanzania held Uganda in their second 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) encounter at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Saturday.

Allan Okello danced past his marker but his curling effort was palmed away by on-form goalkeeper Zuberi Foba in the eighth minute.

Feisal Salum nutmeged Baba Alhassan but his verocious effort from distance was far from the desired target.

Rogers Mato nearly gave Uganda the lead in the 16th minute but his powerful header bounced off the frame after beating the goalkeeper.

At the half-hour mark, Travis Mutyaba intercepted a back pass but Bakari Mwamnyeto was quick to block the effort.

Tanzania were awarded a penalty in the 56th minute after the ball went off Baba Alhassan’s hand in the area.

Simon Msuva stepped up to the occasion and sent Onyango the wrong way as Tanzania took the lead in the 59th minute.

Uche Ikpeazu levelled matters in the 80th minute as he latched on to Denis Omedi’s cross, beating the goalkeeper in style.

James Bogere was brought down in the area and the center referee pointed at the spot, awarding Uganda a penalty.

Allan Okello had the chance to place Uganda in the lead but he planted the ball way off the target in the 90th minute.

In added time, Charles M’Mombwa had a cut clear chance to regain Tanzania’s lead but his effort missed the target by inches.
