Morocco secured a slim 1-0 victory against Tanzania in the 2025 AFCON encounter at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Sunday.
Tanzania started the game on a positive note. Soaking in the pressure and slowing down the pace of the game, which sucked some energy out of the crowd.
Simon Msuva had a chance to give Tanzania the lead under five minutes but his effort went narrowly wide of the frame.

Ismael Saibari thought he had given the hosts the lead with a powerful header but the effort was flagged offside in the 15th minute.
Novatus Moroshi was tripped in the area midway through the opening stanza but the referee was not interested and waved play on.
Ten minutes into the second stanza, Feisal Salum found himself in the right position to pounce on a loose ball but his effort went slightly above the crossbar.
The crowd was left in shock after Achraf Hakimi’s well-curved free kick bounced off the crossbar after beating the goalkeeper in the top of the hour.
Four minutes later, Brahim Diaz opened the scoring with a powerful shot at the near post. The in-form forward was assisted by Hakimi, giving the hosts the lead.
In the dying minutes, Morocco’s defender Adam Masina pushed Iddy Nado from behind in the area, but the referee was not interested, despite Tanzania’s protests.
Morocco will play the winner of the match between Cameroon and South Africa in the quarterfinals.
