Long time rivals Express and SC Villa in a city derby with either side chasing different ambitions.

The hosts, two points above relegation zone want to continue rise up the table while SC Villa, in forth place at the moment want to close in on table leaders.

Trouble has been brewing in the Express camp with reports of key players securing deals away from the club and though the window remains closed until February 1, it remains to be seen whether they will feature.

Muhamad Ssenoga alias Kagawa, Richard Basangwa, Hakim Wandera and John Asiimwe are all said to be leaving the club while assistant coach Richard Malinga has already confirmed departure.

On other hand, Villa looks more focused on challenging for the title and will welcome internationals David Owori and Reagan Mpande who missed games before the Afcon break with the Uganda Cranes.

Centre back Geoffrey Lubangakene also returns from suspension following the red card at Maroons.

Despite being the favourites, Villa must be aware of the threat their rival pose.

Last season, Express won this corresponding fixture 1-0 with a late goal that affected Vipers’ chances of defending the title.

Nevertheless, Villa has dominated the contest in recent meetings winning five and losing just once in the previous six.
