Roges Kassim Mato will join Scottish club Heart of Midlothian in the summer transfer window.
Uganda Cranes forward Rogers Kassim Mato signed a pre-contract to join Scottish club Heart of Midlothian in the summer transfer window.
“We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Ugandan international forward Rogers Mato to become a Hearts player in the summer.” a statement from Heart of Midlothian read.
Mato signed a three-year contract that will keep him at the Edinburg based club until 2029.
He becomes the second Ugandan to play at Heart of Midlothian after David Obua.

Mato’s journey as a football has been promising right from the time he featured at Proline.
He was signed at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club before he crossed to Sanliurfaspor in Turkey.
Mato then first moved to Fudbalski Klub Akademija Pandev Brera Strumica in North Macedonia.
Until his move to Scotland, Mato was playing at FK Vardar in North Macedonia.
At FK Vardar, he has an outrageous 2025-2026 season, scoring 13 goals in 12 games.
Mato has scored eight goals for Uganda Cranes in 41 international games.
Turkish side Trabzonspor has also expressed interest to sign the 22-year-old Ugandan.
In Scotland, another Uganda Cranes forward Karl Anthony Uchechukwu Mubiru Ikpeazu plays at St.Johnstone and John Jordan Obita at Hibernian.
