Football fans in Kira and the surrounding areas are in for a thrilling football-meets-music experience as the Guinness Matchday on Tour debuts in the area this Sunday, March 15, at BBQ Fusion Kira along Kasanagati-Namugongo Road.

Known for bringing Premier League excitement closer to fans, the Guinness Matchday on Tour continues to blend live football screenings, music, and great vibes into one vibrant community gathering where supporters can enjoy the game together.

At BBQ Fusion, the afternoon kicks off with an exciting 5:00 pm clash between Manchester United and Aston Villa, a fixture that could carry significant implications for the race for European places.

United will be eager to secure maximum points as they push to strengthen their position in the upper half of the table, while Villa have shown this season that they are capable of upsetting the league’s traditional heavyweights.

Attention will then shift to the 7:30 pm blockbuster featuring Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

The stakes could not be higher. Liverpool are firmly focused on securing European football, with every point crucial as the season edges toward its decisive stages.

Tottenham, meanwhile, find themselves fighting to pull clear of relegation trouble, making the clash a high-pressure battle between two sides with everything to play for.

Elijah Kitaka performs

Beyond the football, the event promises a strong entertainment lineup. Headlining the event is Elijah Kitaka, the ‘DailyBundle’ hitmaker whose unique Afro-fusion sound has made him one of the most exciting performers on Uganda’s live music scene.

His performance is expected to bring a burst of energy and crowd interaction to the evening.

Music lovers will also enjoy sets from Baboon Souljah, who will take charge of the decks with a vibrant mix of Afrobeats, dancehall, and club anthems.

Additional performances from Mon and Vince Musisi will keep the atmosphere lively throughout the day and into the night.

Fans attending the event will also get a chance to win goodies via the Guinness Matchday Minutes.

The segment gives fans an opportunity to test their football knowledge by predicting the minutes a goal will be scored.

Denise Nazzinda, Brand Manager Guinness at Uganda Breweries Limited, says the Matchday on Tour experience is designed to bring fans closer to the game while celebrating the shared passion that football inspires.

“As the official beer partner of the Premier League, Guinness is committed to bringing fans closer to the game they love. That’s exactly why we will be in Kira this Sunday. We have already toured several parts of the country, and this year alone we have been to Mukono, Mbale and Jinja. After Kira, the Matchday Truck will continue delivering these unforgettable fan experiences to even more football lovers across the country,” she said.

Paired with BBQ Fusion’s popular grilled dishes, refreshing drinks, and an energetic crowd, the Guinness Matchday on Tour stop in Kira is shaping up to be the perfect Sunday outing for football lovers and entertainment seekers alike.
