Morocco’s Jalal Jayed has been lined up to take charge of tomorrow’s AFCON third-place playoff between Egypt and Nigeria

Overview:

AFCON 2025 bronze medal match between Egypt and Nigeria will take place on Saturday, 17th January 2026 at the Mohammed V stadium in Casablanca city.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the match officials for the 2025 AFCON bronze medal match between Egypt and Nigeria.

This duel will take place on Saturday, 17th January 2026 at the Mohammed V stadium in Casablanca city.

Moroccan Jalal Jayed is the center referee. He will work alongside two countrymen Zakaria Brinsi and Akarkad Mostafa as first and second assistants respectively.

Tunisian Hassani Khalil is third assistant referee whilst Kenya’s Peter Waweru Kamaru will be the fourth official.

Algerian Lahlou Benbraham is the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). Haythem Guirat from Tunisia is the assistant VAR 1 while Hamza El Fariq of Morocco is assistant VAR 2.

The referee assessor is Sinko Zeli from Cote D’Ivoire.

The final of this championship will be between hosts Morocco and Senegal on Sunday, 18th January 2026 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat city.

Morocco last won the trophy in 1976 heroics in Ethiopia whilst Senegal were winners in 2021.
