  • UMU Flames 63-73 Rezlife Saints

The closely contested duel between Rezlife Saints and UMU Flames was clouded by ugly scenes in the third quarter.

Rezlife Saints secured a hard-fought 73-63 victory against UMU Flames in the 2025 National Basketball League encounter at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Sunday.

The ugly scenes occurred after the disqualification of Victoria Crocs players Marol Malok and Brian Taroch, along with Rezlife Saints’ Suka Fadul.

Rezlife Saints started on the front foot, opening an impressive 14-9 lead at the end of the first stanza of the game.

UMU Flames’ transitional basketball kept them in close range with the Saints as they went into the halftime break with a deficit of 6 points.

Coming from the long break, the Flames tried to create some presence in the paint but went into the final period of the game with a deficit of a seven-point deficit.

Despite the Flames’ late charge, the Saints bagged a 10-point victory on the day.

Hon Kwany was impressive on both ends of the court, posting a double-double after dropping 12 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.

In the same spirit, Michael Otieno (19 points), Edrine Ekau (15 points) and Kevin Moru (12 points) joined the impressive performers in double digits.

On the other hand, Joshua Duallo (16 points) and Gai Gordon (12 points) scored in double digits.
