Industrious left back Jovan Sempasa has joined Malindi Football Club, an entity featuring in the Zanzibar top flight league.
Sempasa, 18, signed a short term deal with Malindi Football Club.
“I am excited to join Malindi Football Club. I am ready to give 100 percent in trainings sessions and matches as I continue to learn in my journey” the left back told Kawowo Sports Media.

He won the 2025 FEASSA football title with Bukedea Comprehensive as his contribution to the team was immense.
Sempasa was part of the Bukedea Comprehensive team that played at the ISF World Cup in China.
He commenced his football journey while at Lugazi Community primary school. He continued with the football career at Kajjansi Progressive Academy (O-Level) and lately Bukedea Comprehensive Academy (A-Level).
Since childhood, he has been attached to the Ssemilena Soccer Academy.
The deal to Malindi Football Club was brokered by Livingstone Sports Agency.
For starters, Malindi Football Club was started in 1942 (84 years ago).
Christened as the “Wazee wa Funguni”, Malindi FC is arguably Zanzibar’s most decorated club having won the Zanzibar premier league title in 1959, 1964, 1989, 1990 and 1992.
They also have two league titles in Tanzania; 1989 and 1992; two Zanzibar FA cups (1994 and 2019), one Tanzania FA Cup (1993) as well as one Mapinduzi cup (2007).
