A total of eighty-eight (88) golfers have been drawn in the 2026 Professor Mutebile Memorial Golf tournament due for Saturday, 24th January at Kabale Sports Club.

The field has golfers in the different categories: gross, higher handicap, seniors and upcoming golfers in either gender.

Action is expected to tee off as early as 7:30 AM with the quartet of Brian Ngarambe, Gordon Obitre Gama, Yasin Boyi and Linda Ikirezi.

Bank of Uganda employee Tumubwine Twinemanzi tees off at 9:00 AM alongside Kenezio Kayima, Stephen Katwiremu and Emmanuel Dramadri.

Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile (R.I.P)

Another interesting game will start at 8:40 AM with James Abira, Akura Mugyenyi, Robert Kayitani and Alex Kwizera.

Esther Gonza, Edrae Kagombe, Janet Kabayonga and Lillian Koowe drive off at 9:50 AM.

Saul Akiiki Kusemererwa, Willy Rugema, Hellen Kisinde and Sharon Musiimenta will play at 10:10 AM.

The last game is expected after 1:10 PM. There will be a colourful prize-giving ceremony after all the players have completed their games.

This tournament is played in memory of the former Governor of Uganda, Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile (Rest in Peace).

This tournament comes a day after Professor Mutebile’s fourth year since his demise.

For starters, Professor Mutebile was a great Ugandan economist and banker who served as the Governor for the Bank of Uganda from 2001 until his death on 23rd January 2022. He died aged 72 years old.

The event is organised by the Bank of Uganda, GRO Foundation and Kabale Sports Club.
