Uganda Cranes striker Steven Dese Mukwala has confirmed he is leaving Tanzanian giants Simba SC. In recent weeks, there have been reports of the club and the player failing to agree on certain terms.
It is believed that Simba felt Mukwala was surplus to requirements, especially with the signing of Senegalese forward Libasse Gueye and the return of Clatous Chama.
According to reports, Simba wanted to loan Mukwala to Gor Mahia in Kenya, an offer the player turned down.
Today, he took to his social media accounts to declare his exit from the club where he has played for the last one and a half years.
“𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚 𝐬𝐜 🙏. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨ries 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 ❤️. 𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. 𝐁𝐲𝐞.” He wrote.
Mukwala joined Simba in June 2024 from Ghana’s Asante Kotoko and has played 24 games for them, scoring 13 goals.
Albeit not yet confirmed, some reports indicate the 26-year-old forward could be on his way to Libya to join Al Nasr Bengazi.
