After five years, Uganda netball star Margaret Bagaala has officially announced her departure from NIC Netball Club. In an emotional farewell, Bagaala described NIC as more than just a team.
Bagaala’s time with the NIC was defined by growth and success, a period she refers to as a ‘golden chapter’ of her life. She expressed deep gratitude to the managers, coaches and teammates for making her stay worthwhile.
“I leave with a full heart, priceless memories and deep gratitude,” Bagaala noted before adding, “This chapter ends but the bond will never fade. I step into the next journey carrying everything you taught me.”
While she closes this chapter with wishes of endless victories for her former club, Bagaala is not stepping away from the court because she is still an active athlete.
In a move that signals a major shift in the league’s competitive landscape, Bagaala is set to join the KCCA Netball team ahead of the upcoming season.
Her move to KCCA is expected to provide a significant boost to the side that won the league title of the previous season. While the door closes at NIC, Bagaala is expected to start a new chapter with KCCA.
