- Kitara 1-0 Express
Kitara continued the impressive run at home with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Express in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Royals Park, Butema on Wednesday.
Patrick Kaddu was on target as the Royals collected maximum points in front of their home crowd.
Despite travelling with only 14 players to the game, the Red Eagles put up a great fight but somehow failed to find the cutting edge.
They held the Royals to a goalless draw at the end of the first stanza but then lost the battle in the second phase of the physical game.
The ground was not in good condition having been after by the hot temperatures, this gave both sides a hard time in having a free-flowing game due to the visible patches.
Goal poacher Kaddu broke the deadlock in the 56th minutes with a simple touch from close range after being set up by Gadafi Wahab.
John Byaruhanga nearly doubled the hosts lead in the 65th minute but failed to convert a cut-clear chance after a well orchestrated team attack.
The victory takes Kitara to the sixth position with 26 points in 13 games while Express lie 10th with 15 points in 14 games.

Great performance for Kitara despite the challenges
