SC Villa stormed the Uganda Cup round of 32 after edging past Pallisa Hospital FC in the round of 64 encounter played on Friday.

The Jogoos had to dig deep to overcome the Eastern Regional League outfit to win 2-1 with a man less following the early dismissal of goalkeeper Jean-Braddy Wokorach.

Wokorach was sent off four minutes after kickoff when he fouled a Pallisa Hospital striker outside the box.

The SC Villa technical bench was prompted to bring on another goalkeeper in Norman Angufindru, with Ali Bayo being the sacrificial lamb.

Despite the numerical inferiority, the Jogoos proved the better side and indeed took the lead in the 32nd minute through skipper David Owori.

Midway through the second half, the host levelled matters but ten minutes from time, SC Villa regained their lead with Aslam Ssemakula finding the eventual winner.

SC Villa joins other teams that have confirmed their slot into the round of 32, including holders Vipers SC, BUL FC, KCCA FC, Express FC, NEC FC, Kitara FC and Entebbe UPPC FC, among others.
