With 29 seconds on the clock, Ines Kanyamuneza and Sharon Kirabo combined to see the Rangers through the kiln.
Nabisunsa came out of their blocks early as Mellisa Kisakye perfectly connected one from downtown but Stella Nanfuka capped off the first set with a 3-point jumpshot as the Rangers opened a seven-point (17-10) lead.
It was an end-to-end second quarter but Nabisunsa had the last bite of the cherry as Abigail Mpoza tied the game 34-34 going into the long break.
Coming from the locker rooms, Nabisunsa were the more motivated side. Racheal Nambuya concluded the third quarter as the Rangers trailed by two points (50-52).
It was a see-saw affair as both sides took the game to each other without fear or favour. The fight was stretched to the dying minutes of the game before the Rangers ran away with it.
Ines Kanyamuneza (25 points) and Sharon Kirabo (22 points and 14 rebounds) led the Rangers’ scoring chart while Abigail Mpoza (20 points) and Keturah Joy Auma (19 points) scored in double digits for Nabisunsa.
