Miracle Eaglets secured a victory on the Wednesday night of the 2026 National Basketball League in overtime.
Miracle Eaglets secured a hard-fought 65-61 victory against UPDF Lady Tomahawks in the National Basketball League encounter at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Wednesday evening.
Winfred Akello capped the opening quarter with a 3-point play after dropping a layup before following it with a perfect visit on the line. The Eaglets led by four points (17-13) going into the second stanza.
The game’s pace greatly increased in the second quarter and the Eaglets took a decent 10-point lead (36-26) going into the halftime break.
Coming from the long break, the Lady Tomahawks improved on their ball handling limiting the turnovers as they reduced the deficit by six points (46-40) going into the would be final period.
Moreen Atulinda’s late jumpshot lied the game 58-58 as the game was dragged into overtime. She had the chance to win the game for her side but failed to connect her jumpshot with 20 seconds on the clock.
In Overtime, the Eaglets opened a 7-0 run before the Lady Tomahawks. At the end of the day, the Eaglets ran away with a four-point victory.
Winfred Akello managed a double-double dropping 12 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Caroline Nakato added 20 points for the Eaglets.
Atulinda (19 points) and Ruth Letaru (18) dropped double figures for the Lady Tomahawks.
