Over 700 personalities graduated from the Sport Administrators Course (SAC) and Advanced Sports Management Courses (ASMC), organized by the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC).
This was during the 10th Graduation ceremony which took place at the UOC/CGU head office in Lugogo, Kampala.
George Wagoogo, the Programme Director for the Advanced Sports Management Courses and the National Course Director for the Sport Administrators Courses at the Uganda Olympic Committee lauded the 2025 graduating class.
Wagoogo highlighted the upgrade in women’s participation, over the years since the inception of this program.
“Since 2013, we have seen significant growth, especially in women’s enrollment, supporting the IOC’s mission to enhance women’s roles in sports governance. A huge thank you to the IOC, UOC leadership, our dedicated facilitators, and Kyambogo University for their support. As you embark on your journey, do so with passion and pride” Wagoogo pointed.
Dr. Donald Rukare, president of Uganda Olympic Committee and the CommonWealth Games Uganda urged the graduates to transform the classroom knowledge to reality.
“To all the graduates, please apply what you have learned to make a positive impact in your communities. Remember, success is not just about medals it’s about the integrity and leadership you bring to your organizations.” Dr Rukare remarked.
The graduands hail from across the different sports disciplines in the country, giving a comprehensive scoop of coverage.
Michael Raymond Kawooya, who participated in four Commonwealth Games for team Uganda commended the organizers of the courses as he vowed to make the best use of the knowledge attained.
“I studied Sports Administration and now finished Advanced Sports Management. I thank the Uganda Olympic Committee and my mother body USRA (Uganda Squash Racquets Association). I believe that the knowledge I have attained will help me as I transition from active playing to sports administration” Kawooya stated.
The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) education programs continue with a special Sports Administration Course specifically for the female gender in March 2026.
