JKL Lady Dolphins secured a well-deserved 78-68 victory against JT Lady Jaguars in the 2026 NBL encounter at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
The Lady Jaguars’ perfect run came to an end after bagging back to back wins against the Pearl Queens and Victoria She Crocs.
It was an end-to-end opening stanza of the game as both sides squared off 20-20 to set a perfect ground for the exciting fixture.
With seven minutes on the clock, Sandra Ayikoru Wangeshi’s perfect trip to the line tied the game 26-26 before the Lady Jaguars took a one-point lead.
At the end of the second quarter, the Lady Jaguars went into the halftime break with a five-point (40-35) lead.
Coming from the locker rooms, the Lady Dolphins opened a 14-0 run and managed to turn the game around thanks to the positive momentum.
As the Lady Jaguars thought that they had closed down the gap, Agnes Ngeri fired one from downtown to open a five-point (56-51) lead going into the final frame.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Jaguars lacked the patience and composure to weave smooth plays and thus lost by 10 points at the end of the day.
Brenda Ekone (17 points), Ritah Imanishimwe (16 points) and Melissa Taliba (15 points) led the Lady Dolphins’ score board in double digits.
On the other hand, Sandra Ayikoru (13 points), Bridget Aber (11 points) and Sarah Ageno (10 points) scored in double digits for the Lady Jaguars.
