After going seven league matches without victory, Hussein Mbalangu wants his URA side to show fight and end the unwanted record when they host SC Villa at Nakivubo on Saturday.
The tax collectors find themselves in an unfamiliar territory with one point separating them from the relegation zone at the moment and have no goal in seven matches.
With 13 points, only bottom placed Calvary (4 points) and UPDF (12points) have less points than URA who registered just two wins in the first round.
“We’re going to start winning, from Saturday (against SC Villa). The players have the Mbalangu DNA and we’re going to win,” Hussein Mbalangu, URA FC head coach.
The tactician is winless in three league matches at the club but has already identified the issues and says all have been worked on.
“When I joined, some players were unfit but that has been rectified and everyone is physically and mentally fit for the game,” he added.
On the other hand, SC Villa who are seven points behind leaders Vipers are aware that nothing but maximum points will keep them in the title hunt.
Their Serbian coach Zeljko Kovacevic expects a tough second round and says they must treat every game as it comes starting with URA before he called fans to come give the team support.
“Every game in the second round is a hard game because teams want to collect maximum points in the next four months,” he told the pre-match briefing. “We’ve prepared well ahead of this match. I urge all the fans to come in big numbers because with them comes the energy for us as a team.”
URA could unleash some new faces on the day with reports that former U-20 international Derrick Kakooza, midfielders Rahmat Ssenfuka and Moses Waiswa are part of the team alongside returning forward Bunyaga.
Villa welcome midfield enforcer Misi Diego Ssemugera from injury and it remains to be seen whether he will be thrown into the game straight away.
