URA Football Club has confirmed a slot in the Round of 16 for the ongoing 2026 Uganda Cup.
URA secured a hard-fought 6-5 shootout victory in the Uganda Cup encounter at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Wednesday evening.
After failing to score in normal time, the referee sent both sides straight to the penalty shootout.
The Tax Collectors came close to taking the lead in normal time but witnessed the two efforts go off the frame.
First was Joseph Semujju’s powerful effort bouncing off the crossbar before Olimi Nyarwa saw his curling effort go off the right goal post.
In the penalties, Nyarwa, Hudu Mulikyi, Moses Aliro, Fred Amaku, Bright Vuni and Fred Amaku scored for the Tax Collectors while Godfrey Ssekibengo’s effort was saved by Martin Senkooto.
Elsewhere, Express secured a 2-0 against Ntugasaze while Onduparaka edged Football Classroom 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in normal time.
