Disan Galiwango

Disan Galiwango was among the four players officially unveiled at Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club in the mid-season transfer window.

The other three include Moses Waiswa, Derrick Kakooza and Rahmat Ssenfuka who all joined the tax collectors during the secondary players’ transfer window.

Galiwango, who is represented by agent Simon Wasswa is poised for the left back role alongside Arthur “Bocca” Kiggundu.

This comes after URA loaned three players at the left back department; Amis Bwangani, Shafiq Lugoloobi and Faisal Matovu.

Having last featured for Vipers Sports Club in Uganda, Galiwango returns to the UPL, and has since expressed readiness to feature at URA.

“This is a new challenge I am ready for. I am extremely happy to join URA FC. This is a club with clear ambitions and a strong identity. I have come here ready to work hard, help the team improve, and give my very best for the badge. I believe my experience can help us achieve our targets this season and beyond.” Galiwango remarked.

URA head coach Hussein Mbalangu is optimistic that Galiwango will deliver to the best of his expectations.

“He (Galiwango) is a proven winner. He brings experience, professionalism, and a strong mentality into the squad. These are the qualities we need at this stage of the season to stabilize the team and push forward. His presence will be key as we work to turn performances into consistent results.” Mbalangu spoke of the new signing.

During the January window, URA confirmed the departure of eight players.

Laban Tibita, Living Kabon, Amis Bwangani, Nelson Senkatuka, Abraham Tusubira, Faisal Matovu, Nicholas Kabonge and Shafik Lugolobi were all deemed surplus to requirements by the tough Mbalangu.
