Kitara moved to the top of the Uganda Premier League pile after overcoming Entebbe UPPC 2-0 on Tuesday at the Royals Park, Butema.

The two teams were facing off for the second time in a space of one week, having met in the Uganda Cup last Tuesday. Kitara also won that round of 32 tie 2-0 in Hoima.

Today, the Royals once again proved that lightning can strike twice, and they eventually walked away with all three points. Gaddafi Wahab and Living Kabon scored a goal each in either half.

Entebbe had gone eight League games without conceding a goal and were yet to suffer defeat on the road this season.

However, in Kitara, they met a team that limited them going forward but also asked several questions going forward.

The deadlock was broken in the 44th minute with Wahab heading home from Patrick Kaddu’s delivery.

Seven minutes from time, Kabon, who was marking his return to the club for his second stint, also scored off a header with another returnee, Edson Agondeze, teeing him up.

The result temporarily takes Kitara top of the table on 39 points, one ahead of Vipers, who face Lugazi later on at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
