February 2026 Award winners with the officials

The Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards for February 2026 were held on Tuesday, 3rd March at Molecule Restaurant in Kololo, Kampala.

Three outstanding personalities in Badminton, Chess and football were crowned as the most outstanding in the month.

Fresh from winning gold in the singles of the 2026 Africa Senior Badminton Championship in Botswana; Fadilah Mohammed Shamika Rafi won the award in Badminton sport.

Shamika also combined with teammate Tracy Naluwooza to win bronze in the double’s event at the same championship in Botswana’s capital city, Gaborone.

 “I appreciate Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly awards organizers for recognizing me. I am really happy for this, the first in a while since I last won it, I am happy for my performance, and I am looking to continue improving.” Shamika remarked.

In Chess, Mark Nyola Wasswa, a son of former Express club player and coach Godfrey Nyola, emerged the winner of the accolade.

The Kampala University student won the Uganda National Chess Championship where he defeated top players of the country.

To win this accolade, Nyola came off stiff resistance against Olivia Asiimwe and Sana Omprakash.

For football, NEC footballer Richard Basangwa, scorer of four goals in the month for NEC (both in the league and Uganda) beat Vipers’ captain Milton Karisa and UPPC Entebbe’s goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa.

The colorful event pulled the attendance of Uganda Chess Federation President Andrew Bakiza, who joined Real Stars Sports Agency CEO Isaac Mukasa and Fortebet’s Rasty Mbatidde Namugema, plus representatives from the host venue and accolade designer Jude Colour Solutions.
